The Church of St James, Lancaut.
A romantic ruin, superbly located above a meander of the River Wye. The earliest part of the structure is 13th century, on the site of a much older foundation.
Located about 3 miles north of Chepstow on the B1234 road to St Briavels and Coleford, it is only accessible by a steep track from a parking area on the lane signposted to Lancaut.
Gunns Mill Furnace
Gunns Mill, dating from 1625, is the oldest and best-preserved blast furnace surviving from the charcoal era in Britain, and probably in Europe. It owes its survival to conversion to a paper mill in the mid-eighteenth century.
The Whitecliff Furnace
A coke-fuelled blast furnace dating from 1804-1808.
The scheduled monument is located on the north side of Newland Street, half a mile south-west of Coleford.
